ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)+SpyGlass system versus percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage (PTGD)+ERCP in the treatment of acute cholecystitis secondary to choledocholithiasis. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of the patients with acute cholecystitis secondary to choledocholithiasis who were treated in Department of Gastroenterology, Jilin City People's Hospital, from December 2019 to September 2021, among whom there were 23 patients in the ERCP+SpyGlass group and 19 patients in the PTGD+ERCP group. The two groups were compared in terms of the indicators such as surgical technical success, surgical operation time, surgical clinical success, postoperative recovery, length of hospital stay, and complications. The two-independent-samples t test was used for comparison of normally distributed continuous data between groups, and the Wilcoxon rank-sum test was used for comparison of non-normally distributed continuous data between groups; the chi- square test or the Fisher's exact test was used for comparison of categorical data between groups. Results Compared with the PTGD+ERCP group, the ERCP+SpyGlass group had a significant reduction in C-reactive protein after surgery ( Z =2.999, P =0.003). There were no significant differences between the two groups in technical success rate ( χ 2 =1.735, P =0.188), clinical success rate ( χ 2 =0.846, P =0.358), total time of operation ( t =1.667, P = 0.113), white blood cell count on day 1 after surgery ( t =1.075, P = 0.289), length of postoperative hospital stay ( t =1.560, P =0.127), and incidence rate of complications (all P > 0.05). Conclusion In the treatment of acute cholecystitis secondary to choledocholithiasis, the ERCP+SpyGlass system has a comparable clinical effect to PTGD+ERCP and is safe and effective, without increasing surgery-related adverse events and risks, and it can also solve the problems of the biliary tract and the gallbladder at one time through natural orifices, with no scars on body surface and convenient postoperative nursing. Therefore, it holds promise for clinical application.

ABSTRACT

Marine traditional Chinese medicine (MTCM) is an important part of Chinese medicine (CM),there are some differences in understanding of the current literature and the extension of the connotation of marine medicine, which leads to the definition dispute of MTCM,hindering clinical application and further development of MTCM.In this study,we explored the concept of MTCM in literature, discussed the attributes of ocean marine CM,summed up the differences between the land CM and MTCM over variety characteristics, effect of drug composition characteristics and biological activity characteristics, and discussed the connotation and extension of MTCM from three aspects of theoretical basis and the effect and source of the drug, leading to the formation of the narrow and broad concept of MTCM.The five kinds of disputes in the definition of MTCM were discriminated according to the concept and connotation, which provided a theoretical basis for the definition and the research of MTCM.Moreover,we also defined the English translation and its abbreviation as Marine Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM).

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effects of planting soil on active ingredients in different organs of Lonicera japonica Thunb.. Methods The contents of active ingredients in Lonicera japonica Thunb. from different origins, different varieties and different organs, such as chlorogenic acid, luteoloside, total flavonoids, total phenolic acid, and soil nutrient and inorganic elements, were detected. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 19.0 software. Results Lonicera japonica Thunb. from Pinyi area in Shandong Province had the highest content of active ingredients. In terms of content of active ingredients, PY-HBRD-1 was the most suitable variety in the Pingyi area. Analysis on the correlation between planting soil and active ingredients showed that the contents of K, Mn and other elements could be used as the index for quality control of Lonicera japonica Thunb.. Conclusion This study could provide guidance for selection of varieties of Lonicera japonica Thunb. in different planting areas, and enrich the materials about researches on producing area of Lonicera japonica.

ABSTRACT

A sesquiterpene synthase (AsSS4) full-length open reading frame (ORF) cDNA was cloned from wounded stems of Aquilaria sinensis by RT-PCR method. The result showed that the ORF of AsSS4 was 1,698 bp encoding 565 amino acids. Prokaryotic expression vector pET28a-AsSS4 was constructed and transformed into E. coli BL21 (DE3) pLysS. Recombinant AsSS4 protein was obtained after induction by IPTG and SDS-PAGE analysis with a MW of 64 kD. Enzymatic reactions using farnesyl pyrophosphate showed that recombinant AsSS4 protein purified by Ni-agarose gel yielded five sesquiterpene compounds, cyclohexane, 1-ethenyl-1-methyl-2, 4-bis(1-methylethenyl)-, β-elemene, α-guaiene, α-caryophyllene and δ-guaiene. This paper reported the first cloning and functional characterization of AsSS4 gene from A. sinensis, which will establish a foundation for future studies on the molecular mechanisms of wound-induce agarwood formation in A. sinensis

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To provide theoretical evidence for dividing and breeding cultivars of Lonicera japonica, the botanical character of laminas leaves observed and compared.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>Using the morphological method, the main character of leaves of 11 farm cultivars of L. japonica were systematically observed and the data were comparatively studied with statistical means. It included the length, width and the ratio of the length to the width of blade, density, length and thickness of the nonglandular hair in the epidermis.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>The results showed that there were obvious differences in length, width and the ratio of the length to the width of blade, density and length of the nonglandular hair in the epidermis.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>On the basis of the differences of morphological character of leaves, the various farm cultivars could be identified.</p>

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the drug use in outpatients of our hospital. METHODS: A total of 10.680 prescriptions prescribed since the issuing of the Prescription Management Method on May 2007 were reviewed for an analysis of the irrational ones involving nonstandard writing and inappropriate drug use. RESULTS: 12.0% prescriptions were nonstandard in writing and 51.6% were irrational in drug use. CONCLUSION: The prescriptions in our hospital under study are somewhat irrational in prescription writing and drug use, which is worth the highest alert.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the pericarp surface of Fructus Viticis from three main production area under the scanning electron microscope (SEM), and to provide evidence for distinguishing the Fructus Viticis and its false and the different variety of it. Method Using scanning electron microscope, the pericarp surface characteristics from three main production area were comparative studied. Result The pericarp surface characteristics of the fruits of Vitex trifolia L. var. simplicifolia Cham from Shandong and Jiangxi were extremely similar, but they were obvious different with the fruits of Vitex trifolia L. from Guangxi. Conclusion The pericarp surface characteristics of Fructus Viticis from three main production area under SEM were obvious. The methods was simple and provides the new reference to discriminate the Fructus Viticis from different places.

ABSTRACT

The morphology and anatomy of two genera, five species and one variety ofEquisetaceae produced in Shandong Province were studied under light and scanning electron microscope. There are remarkble differences between Equisetum L. and Hippochatete Milde in the type of stomas, at-tachments on the surface of stoma guard cells and the number of epithelial layers; and the presence of lat-eral xylem in all vasular bundle of Equisetaceae from Shandong. The results showed that they can be identi-fied taxonomically according to their inner structual and epidermal characteristics of stem between differentgenera, but with little difference among species of same genus.
